In the summer of 2008, Douglas Metals began its pursuit of Lean Manufacturing. Lean Manufacturing is the process of eliminating waste in processes and improving flow. In that process it became apparent that we needed to complete our ISO certification. Early in the Spring of 2009 we signed on with ISMI to begin the ISO certification. Douglas Metals has successfully passed their ISO 9001 certification audit. With the great job of our employees have done, it allowed us to complete the review of our Quality Systems. In addition to the ISO certification, Douglas Metals also became certified as a WBE, making one of a hand full of companies in the US that have been reconized with both certifications.
